Who are we?

We build the website you’re looking at right now, the app, and various internal systems used by visitors and volunteers at the venue.

If you want to put your programming skills to use on real systems that are part of everyday life for all the volunteers in the building, as well as the thousands of people who visit us, then in our opinion, E-tjenesten is the best place to be.

We work agile. We go to stands to see how people use what we’ve built, then push an update right in the middle of Studenttorget. We talk to the other people in the building to figure out what is needed, build a prototype, and release to the world.

Our goal for this semester is to build a recommendation quiz — something like a study programme selector or political party selector — for the different groups, and launch it on blifrivillig.no.

We’re not afraid to do, or fail. Studentersamfunnet i Bergen isn’t just your student cultural house, but also your startup.

Who are you?

You may already be working, be a few years into your studies, or have previous programming experience from your spare time. Maybe you’ve worked across the stack, or gone deep into a few specific areas. Either way, you’re good at asking questions and ready to take on challenges.

Across all our projects, we use Linear for issue tracking and PostHog for monitoring and telemetry across our systems.

We also use Instagram to post sketches and memes.
