The world is collapsing! Fortunately, China is ready to welcome us all. Or? China's influence on the world is increasing. They are leaders in just about every green technology and build infrastructure both domestically and abroad that few democratic states can even dream of. A highly responsive one-party state is perhaps the most effective way to drive development, but it comes with great costs. Nationalized and censored media, unresolved territorial conflicts, a lugubrious relationship with human rights are among the sticks in China's worldwide wheel of power.

On a foreign basis, since 2013 China has pursued an active policy of investment on the African continent, particularly in road and railway development. Africa has become China's main supplier of minerals. Europe is also courting the continent, but is met with scepticism. The colonial era is still fresh in the memory and in 2025 the African Union had compensation for slavery and crimes committed during the colonial era as its working theme.

China is involved in different ways almost all over the world. Can one morally defend criticizing China for engaging in imperialism, when Western imperialism is hardly forgotten, if it is even over?
