Why do we speak so rarely about death—and can grief also be expressed through celebration? What can we learn from a culture that meets loss with colour, memories, and community? Join us for an atmospheric and thought-provoking panel discussion on “Día de los Muertos”.
At a time when death is often a quiet, private subject, we turn our attention to a tradition that does the exact opposite. This Mexican holiday demonstrates how memories of the dead can be kept alive through rituals, symbols, and community. The discussion explores what this reveals about our relationship with grief, memory, and the end of life, and whether there are other ways to understand loss and presence. Joining the panel will be Mexican dancer Claudia Hernandez and Kristine Seljemoen, PhD candidate at UiB. this event will be held in English!
